Design and Technology at OLST
Design and technology at OLST follows the design process. We begin by exploring products and how they have been made. This helps to understand how to create our own design. We then carry out focused tasks to learn the skill and then create our own product. We always evaluate our end products to learn from the process. We explore different areas of technology which link to and prepare the children for the KS3 curriculum- resistant materials, textiles, food and nutrition. In addition, we plan for progression through the design process and explore key designers.
When possible we take our design and technology into our school garden to use the natural resources available to us to enhance the design process.
