World Book Day at Our Lady & St Thomas in Willington

World Book Day 2026 got off to an exciting start at Our Lady and St Thomas Catholic Primary School in Willington, as pupils arrived dressed as their favourite book characters. From classic story heroes to modern-day favourites, the school was filled with colour, creativity and plenty of literary magic.

A Special Visit to Willington Library

All classes have been heading out to Willington Library today for a special storytelling session. The children enjoyed listening to engaging stories, exploring new books and celebrating the joy of reading in the heart of their community.

The library staff were delighted to welcome the children, helping inspire a love of books that will last well beyond World Book Day.

Class 4 Create Their Own Nonsense Story

One of the highlights of the morning came from Class 4, who worked together at the library to create their very own nonsense story. With imaginative ideas, funny characters and lots of teamwork, the class produced a wonderfully quirky tale that reflects the playful spirit of World Book Day.
